FarmBorough Festival 2015

This weekend was the best weekend of my life (not even trying to be dramatic here) I had SO much fun at the inaugural FarmBorough Country Music Festival in NYC! The first country music festival to come to the city, as soon as I heard about it I knew I had to go. With Dierks Bentley, Brad Paisley, and Luke Bryan as headliners I couldn't wait for this weekend to get here.  My Big Sister Laura and I went all 3 days and had a blast singing and dancing the weekend away (special thanks to her for the picture above!) It was raining all day Saturday but that didn't stop us from enjoying the music, we spent most of the day under the side tent listening to up and coming acts like Dallas Smith and Striking Matches (they wrote some songs for the TV show Nashville and are really great!) I fell in love every time another cute country guy started singing on stage, Dustin Lynch - marry me please. The weekend was incredible and I am so sad it had to come to an end. Y'all better believe I am getting tickets for next year as soon as they go on sale! Check out the full lineup from this year here

Tuesday Tunes #2

Another great one from Ed’s new album X – I'm convinced he can do no wrong.

Tennis Courts (Flume Remix) – Lorde

I love this EDM take on Lorde, surprising tempo changes with the same great sound and lyrics.  I like that they didn’t change the song too much but really just added new elements to it.

Cool Kids – Echosmith

I love this song, it’s so fun to sing along to and I am obsessed with the covers people are doing on Vine and YouTube.

Famous – Kelleigh Bannen

This is definitely one of my favorite country “revenge” songs.  Telling everyone he's a big jerk is a lot easier than trashing his car.

Tuesday Tunes

I absolutely LOVE music.  All kinds of music. One of my favorite things to do is search for new music, artists, and remixes. I wanted to share some of the songs I have had on repeat lately.  

Riding Solo (Njomza Remix) – Hippie Sabotage

I am in love with this remix. The original song is also great but much slower, the remix is definitely more fun to dance to! Listen to the original here

Don’t – Ed Sheeran

I love everything Ed Sheeran does and this is one of my favorites off of his new album X – the music video is pretty cool too.

Sunshine – Matisyahu

I’ve liked Matisyahu for a while, he has such a different style.  I like the pop/reggae thing he has going on.  This song is so fun and catchy, perfect for those last few weeks of summer.

Ungrateful Eyes – Jon Bellion

I have always had a thing for lyrics, they are the first thing I hear when I listen to a new song and Jon Bellion is an amazing artist whose lyrics are, honestly, poetry. Everything he has put out so far is incredible. He creates every sound himself - singing, playing, and producing. And the coolest part? He puts it all online for free so that everyone can enjoy.
